EGA (Cas Number 111-15-9) is a colorless liquid with a mild ester-like odor. It is miscible with most organic solvents and is partially soluble in water. Cellosolve Acetate is an excellent solvent for many natural and synthetic resins and is used in printing ink and surface coating formulations.

Applications (การใช้งาน) :

EGA is used particularly for the preparation of mildly scented nitrocellulose lacquers, because of its pleasant odour. Its low volatility imparts improved spreadability to vinyl copolymer lacquers as well as other binders which dry without undergoing any chemical change. Diluted with alcohol or white sprit, it only slightly attacks grounds to which it is applied. Cellosolve Acetate is used as a viscosity-reducing auxillary solvents in high solid paints.
